Michelle Free, MSW, RSW, Dip TIRP

My professional work experience has been with adults and families in a variety of clinical settings. Since 2007, I have been working at The Addictions and Concurrent Disorders Centre at Trillium Health Partners – The Credit Valley Hospital Site as a clinical social worker.  My role as a social worker has involved individual and group counselling, family work, as well as providing education to community agencies and youth in the field of addictions and mental health.

I have a master’s degree in social work. I am certified in smoking cessation from Training Enhancement in Applied Cessation Counselling and Health (TEACH). I have a diploma from he Toronto Institute of Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP) and have also have completed training in trauma treatment in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). In addition I have training in the Internal Family Systems model. I value and remain committed to continuing education in my field.

My professional affiliations include The Ontario Association of Professional Social Workers (OASW) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSW/SSW).

I believe in the value of connection to oneself and others. My goal is to help facilitate meaningful change and healing through safety and connection in the therapy relationship as you share your personal experiences.
